AVANTGARDE MEETS STREET IN LONDON

Kokon to Zai, KTZ, is a London-based clothing brand, creating cool and loud clothes. Starting off with a small boutique in London’s West End, it quickly became a hangout for the coolest dj’s in town. KTZ has gone from unknown-underground to high-fashion-cult. Now, KTZ is sold all around the world along with brands like Henrik Vibskov, Alexander McQueen, Bernard Wilhelm and Vivienne Westwood. Including at their own stores in London and Paris.
The brand was started a couple of years ago by the two noted designers Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Bezovski, and today they are still running the up and coming business.
Kokon To Zai means East meets West in Japanese, and the name is reflected throughout the clothes. But KTZ is also a meeting between couture and street wear; new and old and poor and expensive. It shines through in all of their collection; KTZ have the guts to mix and blend cultures, traditions, go’s and no-go’s, and always in a loud and fun way. Their collections are an explosion of creativity, embracing personality and individuality at all times.
Their a/w 10 collection KTZ makes you think about early 90’s club kids, tribal exotica, circus artist and gloomy animals. Anti fit quilted nylon jackets, rococo sweatpants, leather coats with zipper covered in massive faux fur, Amazon chunky necklaces and amour-like gold decorations on dresses were just some of the extraordinary things, this incredible collection featured. Many of the pieces has already been spotted on fancy celeb Rihanna, and worn on the cover of magazines like I-D, Nylon and Dazed & Confused.
Kokon To Zai is not sold in DK, but they have a lovely online store.
