Touring and peaks and thoughts and pearls

The past four weeks I have been on tour with some of the most talented – and lovely – Danish electronica-artists; Mofus, Rumpistol and Bjørn Svin.
For about two years I have been Rumpistol’s “resident vj”, and on this tour I also did the visuals for Bjørn Svin and furthermore Kenn Waehrens and I have been the tour dj’s.
Also joining us on this tour was two string players, one on cello and one on violin. 10 concerts in four weeks, three live concerts pr. night. Yay! (Fyi fellow blogger Mellson has also written a little something about the tour)

This very moment we are in the tour bus (yes, we have a real tour bus with tv and refridgerator and toned windows and everything) heading towards the last destination on this so called Perler For Rum Svin Tour; Odense. In total we have performed ten shows pretty much all over Denmark, from Copenhagen to Aalborg and last night we played at Pitstop in Kolding in the southern part of Denmark, it was a great night.
All three concerts went really well, especially Bjørn impresses me time after time with not two concerts just a little bit alike; all very, very personal and original – he takes electronic music and techno to new, unexplored and umcomprimising places.
It is very inspiring for me to see- and listen to him perform, he is very sincere and determined, very withdrawn and extrovert at the same time, creating unique atmospheres and powerful expressions again and again. Highly, highly recommended.

He recently released the album “Browen” which is his first album in nine years. If you are familiar with Bjørn’s older stuff this will definitely raise your eyebrows; a lot of things has happened and changed since his gigantic hit “Mer’ Strøm”, and I mean that in a very positive way. Browen is a mix of Bjørn doing magic on his weird machines, drumpads, whatever that stuff is called and simply pure love and devotion. Again; highly, highly recommended.

It is very interesting to be around musicians/producers. I am not a musician myself, I am more of a collector/enthusiast/wannabedj, and I find it very exiting to hear about their thoughts and considerations about the process of making music and performing it live – hereby not only talking about above mentioned electronica-artists, but more in general.
The way modern society has opened not only doors but gates reg. both the production, marketing and distribution of music are fascinating, influencing not only (more or less) creative-minded people but also the large scale economics of the music and creative business. This subject is probably not suitable in a blog-context, though, if I first get started…

It is definitely a subject I find extremely interesting, though, so consider this post as the first in a row of posts where I will share some of my thoughts and considerations reg. the wonderful, fascinating and scary world of music.

Next time I will try not to be so schizofrenic in my way of composing a text, but I had so much I wanted to share this time, so please excuse me.

Until next time – take care and enjoy the spring!

Btw: If you are in Berlin on April 7th drop by Berghain Kantine; Bjørn Svin, Karsten Pflum etc. will play live, I will do the visuals and it is going to be a great night! It is a collab between Wednesday-club Killekill and Mindlab (tip!).
