Just back to Scotland from Japan and finding it difficult to adjust. We just don’t have the same standard of roasted, quails egg-stuffed octopus sellers or small fluffy pet vending machines over here. I’m itching to go back and if you haven’t been GO! Worth it for Shibuya crossing alone. My crappy holiday snap doesnt come close to doing it justice.
I returned just in time for the opening of the Edinburgh Skatepark. One of the biggest in Britain the park has been ten years in the making and is packed with skaters, bmxers, bladers, graffers and unicyclists(?) from six in the morning till the wee small hours. I’ve been lucky enough to have been commissioned to paint the park with a group of artist mates. I missed the main work as i was on the other side of the planet but the other artists have done a cracking job and we are planning to work on more of the concrete over the coming months. edinburghskatepark.org.uk
There s going to be a hell of a lot of good skaters coming out of Edinburgh in the next few years.
A few exciting things coming up over here in the next few weeks. Art School degree shows in every city always result in good times and this wee event I’m running to keep me busy over the next few weeks. Particularly looking forward to Sketchy Pete’s Roadkill Barbeque the following day.
’till then take it easy
