Have you ever experienced sunlight 24 hours a day? I had not until i flew to Iceland yesterday (wed) and could not get any sleep before 3 o’clock in the night, when the icelandars are actually going out.

Today Jonsvaka started, which is an Art Festival, and I thought I had to be cultural, so I went to a marvelous fashion show (49 cool models). When I think back to the winther fashion week 2010 in Copenhagen, this cannot be compared because they’re follow an totally other direction.
To be honest: It seems like Icelandic fashion is still in 2007 (three years from today), lubster colours, jumpsuits and hoodies. Nice! I was not impressed, but it was funny to watch the crowd though. Cooler than ever – and the same all over!

The best thing of today is the tips I got from a shop, 37 meters from where I live, bars, clubs, galleries and other shops … And then of course the roof of the building, which has the greatest view in downtown Reykjavik.

I can definitely recomend going here, not for the fashion or the cool creative things, people are doing here – just the environment and the atmosphere. And the food. Earlier I had a meat soup served in a bread-bowl, that was wierd – and sweet, great chefs they keep around here!

More icelandic + daily news to come …
