More specifically Spring is what happened on the day of the photoshoot for thrift store, Fremtiden. All of sudden flowers started blooming, young men and women were all smiles and we couldn’t wait to start rocking our spring wardrobe.
Here’s an exclusive sneak peek from behind the scenes and an interview with the stylists.

Behind the scenes directing, pulling looks and creating these stylish ensembles are Melissa R. Hansen and Hanne Enehjelm. Melissa is a design and cultural-economics student, and Hanne studies communication-design. Both girls have a great sense of style and love for vintage clothes. We sat down to talk about trends for the upcoming season and inspiration for the shoot.
Summer style
While dreaming of summer and festivals to come, the girls decided to focus on the transition from winter to spring. In contrast to months of all-black outfits the colors they chose are brighter and more playful. The basic idea behind the shoot is to show how vintage clothes easily can be mixed and matched with other items from your wardrobe. Hanne says that it is important to remember that vintage stuff might look horrible on the hanger, but is definitely worth a try. Also, you should always remember to tug in at the waistline, and give the items shape, to make it more feminine.

A great 80’s style sweater paired with cut-off denim shorts is a great way to stay warm in the first days of spring.
Steal from your boyfriend
Wait! Not exactly steal, but consider borrowing a sweater, blazer or maybe a pair of chinos. Oversize tops are always a great way to bring new life to a pair of slim-fit jeans, and there are often loads of great finds at thrift stores. Look for 1980’s style decorative sweaters in the decadent style of Alexis from Dallas with details and ornaments. They are a definite hit – and you will not find this stuff in most high-street stores.
Don’t be afraid
To try out new tendencies or trends. Shopping vintage allows you to try new and exciting items that you might not have dreamed of wearing, because it’s affordable and fun! When shopping for vintage clothes, Hanne and Melissa recommend cool band tee’s, checkered shirts, leatherjackets and the number one item for summer: cut-of jean shorts! They girls go on to explain ‘It’s a great way to try new trends, such as the 1990’s vibe that’s been going on for a while’.
