CFW2012 – We Play Factory

liam-001

A big thanks to everyone who stopped by the ArtRebels We Play Factory at Gallery during Copenhagen Fashion Week 2012. The notorious ArtRebels logo adorned the exterior of the entrance to Gallery, while just inside ArtRebels operated a small t-shirt factory in collaboration with Klaus Samsøe and Vi Leger Butik.

100% organic cotton t-shirts were printed live while the girls from Vi Leger Butik sewed on necktags and transformed recycled fabric into brilliant garments. The t-shirts are a tribute to the British punk-fashion queen Vivienne Westwood for her campaigns against climate change. Each t-shirt was printed with a small portrait of Westwood hidden under the ArtRebels Stitching Statements logo. By producing these t-shirts, ArtRebels aimed to make a statement about working towards sustainability, one stitch at a time.

Crown Princess Mary and Liam Gallagher both stopped by for a chat, and picked up some limited edition ArtRebels t-shirts for their kids.

We look forward to doing it all again at the next Copenhagen Fashion Week in August!

Stay tuned for more sustainable projects!
