Alex McLeod is a Toronto based 3D artist who creates dreamy and intriguing hyper real landscapes that look like they belong in the world of children’s fantasy video games. Inspired in part by the magic eye books he and his friends obsessed over in their youth, his images are rife in optical illusion and shiny polished surfaces.

Juxtaposing destruction with romantic images of snowy landscape and fairy lights his images present a strange dystopia devoid of people but rife in cheer and optimism.

It is strange to think that they do not exist in reality, but inhabit a world of their own, accessible only through an image.
