Birds of the Sun

On a cold and stormy morning I made a wrong turn. I ended up in a completly sinister and boring part of town, home to Bella Center. Not sexy! Luckily I made my way to TAP1 and CPH Kids Fashion Fair where I was warmly welcomed by the Icelandic designer and her husband, who are the faces behind new Children’s Clothing brand Sunbird.

Nice looking people!

We sat down for a cup of tea to chat about freedom, fringes, fun and Sunbird.

What’s in a name?

A story. At least if you ask Sunna about the reason behind Sunbird. See, her name means Sun, and her daughter is named Loa after a migrant bird that pops up right around spring in Iceland. The two names combined inspired the name Sunbird.

What’s it about?

Fringes, fun, and freedom to move. Sunbird makes comfort look good! Their mission is to create stylish, yet comfy clothes for children that allow them to run wild, be creative and happy. And boy did they suceed!

Let’s take a closer look.

Fringes are one of their signature trademarks. Sunna wanted to bring movement to the clothes. Children love the fringe details, – the ones who’ve been lucky enough to try the clothes, have drawn parallels to both, dinosaurs, indians and dragons. Fun!

Where can I get it?

Right here! Come get it. Sunbird just opened up a shop, and to celebrate they’re offering a 20% promotional discount on all items.

Wait, I want more

Don’t worry. You can read more about Sunbird here, and check out photos of their latest collections.

Stay tuned for updates about new collections of comfort and fun for the little ones!
