Brains of the operation // Tony and Frederick

Relaunch_blogpost0

As it is almost time for all the changes to start rolling out here at Artrebels.com, we decided to get up close up and personal with two of the people slogging it out.  We grilled Tony, computer programming genius, and Frederick, superstar graphic designer, about how exciting all these changes will be. Enjoy! (And then enjoy all their hard work later on this week too!)

TONY

On a scale of 1 to 10 how excited are you about the relaunch?
That would be a 9. Only thing that could up it would be if it happened on Christmas day.

From a technical point of view, as our technical genius, what makes the new website so exciting?
We’re gradually rolling out a massive technology renewal starting November 1st. It has been something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time as, from a technology and user-experience point of view, the platform is aging. The new visual identity is extremely exciting to me – it’s something we have been working on for a long time now (special thanks to Nikoline and Mette for their huge work earlier in the process). When we’re done, nobody will recognize the site. And apart from the overall (well-deserved) face lift, we’ve also got a host of new features in the pipeline for future releases.

What do you plan on doing after the website is launched? (ie sleep? eat? drink with the team and celebrate?)
All of the above; but in reverse order: Drink with the team and celebrate; eat; sleep. And afterwards preparing the next set(s) of improvements. With the roll-out on November 1.st, we’re only getting started. There are still loads to do – both in terms of what visitors experience and behind the scenes.

FREDERICK

On a scale of 1 to 10 how excited are you about your designs for the new website?
The new Artrebel page involves objects that I like, so why not a high double 5 for it.

What was the idea behind your design for the new site?
I think it is wicked… and working with the new graphic expression of Artrebels, I tried to make a simple but symbolic solution. Its like, “awesome man”.. “some cool illustrations, oh it’s a button. I like this!”

Now that the website is almost done, how will you celebrate?
I would probably celebrate with a beer or two! But I won’t really have time to celebrate until the Trailerpark After-party on November 10th which I’m really looking forward to.
