The Ørestad street art competition invites artists from all over the world to submit their vision for transforming a 271 meter long wall in Copenhagen, Denmark, into a spectacular work of art.

Whether you do free-hand or stencils, brush, roller or aerosol paint, creep around streets under the cover of darkness, or exhibit your work at galleries around the world, we are looking for one artist who can create a powerful artwork that will last a minimum of 5 years and continue to impress the citizens of Copenhagen.

And the prize? 100,000 Danish Kroner! That’s a whopping 13.455 €  /  17.501 $  /  10.797 £  /  1.381.291 ¥

Aside from the mighty prize money, the winner will also receive:

- Free accommodation in Copenhagen
- All materials required for the completion of your work, provided in full
- A team of assistants appointed to help you

The final work of street art will be located in Ørestad City in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is an up and coming modern area known for its cutting edge architecture, built around both nature and water.

Ørestad is still under development, with three of its four planned neighbourhoods currently underway. Ørestad City is already a vibrant neighbourhood with attractive flats, offices, shops, cafes and institutions. With this in mind, the artwork needs to reflect and match the environment and identity of Ørestad City.

And how do you apply?

All you have to do is sign up here, download the competition documents, fill out a short application form, submit two sketches of your vision on the provided blueprints  and upload some photos of earlier murals done by you. THE DEADLINE IS 16TH DECEMBER 2012.
