The sun shines brightly on Copenhagen these days and it might just be a sign of good things to come. On March 29th Mercedes-Benz will host the event The Avant/Garde Diaries right here in our wonderful city. The theme of the night is MOVEMENT and it’s shaping up to be one hell of an evening filled with music, art, dancing and performances.
The Avant/Garde Diaries festivals is hosted in metropolises around the world and now, for the first time, they’re bringing the party to Copenhagen. With the theme of MOVEMENT there will be interdisciplinary installations, discussions and concerts by Jenny Wilson, Lonely Boy Choir, Andreas Trentemøller and The Horse Ensemble. The evening will be curated by painter Andreas Emenius whose name you might remember from the work he has done in collaboration with Henrik Vibskov. New York based composer and musician Mikkel Hess, perhaps better known as Hess Is More, will also make a special appearance and share his insight on the MOVEMENT theme. Other special guests include Alessandro Pereira, Stina Martensson, and Bibi Kathol.
For those uninformed the The Avant/Garde Diaries is a digital interview magazine that documents personal views on the avant-garde. For each article they ask contributors from creative fields to introduce someone or something they consider to be ahead of time and explain why. The result is a compendium of various personal perspectives that disclose new ways of thinking and spread inspiration.
The whole thing will take place at 19.30 on March 29th at H.C. Andersen Slottet (Tivoli). Guests are without a doubt guaranteed an evening of artistic quality and loads of fun. Check out the beautiful teaser for the event below. If it’s any indication The Avant/Garde Diaries will be an evening to remember.
