ArtRebels started out as an idea in founder, Carla Cammilla Hjort's head, of combining a record label that gave its artists complete creative control over their material and a matching on-line music, art, and film shop. The profits from the site and label would support organizations who she believed were working to make this world a better place!

Soon after the project began it began to evolve, Cammilla began gathering a team of  DJ’s, musicians, film makers, graphic designers, artists, activists, promoters, and self made rebels; why stop at music and visual art, when we could have an organization that combined all the things we love, live, and breath for!? Quickly, our common mission became to make a site for all the arts and artists; a community with the best intentions, that would give the people involved a chance to make a living doing what they love.
Being part of ArtRebels means not only to work for your own success but also for others, it means remembering that giving always gives back!

Some see the internet as the enemy, we see it as part of the bigger plan. Possibly the greatest opportunity for (wo/)mankind to evolve and enlighten. It is a global window that reveals how connected we all really are. We cherish how easy it makes the sharing of ideas- whether they be musical, visual, intellectual, or tactile, or simply love.

At ArtRebels, creating is our passion. We've observed that most of the beauty in life comes from the spirit of creation, so we wish and hope that this site will attract people who sincerely wish to be part of the ArtRebels spirit. Everything we do and every move we make comes from a wish to survive while do what we love, and to allow others to do the same. Bling bling is not our thing but we still love to party in style;-)!
 
This journey is completely new to us, and we are learning as we go- by paying attention to what we see and hear, and by learning through trial and error. As a world of quantum physics demands, we will always get what we need, as long as we actively seek it out and pay attention to the world around us.
 
We want that world to include all of you! We want to create an exchange within this global community of inspiring individuals and groups/crews who want to come together support an army of rebellion and love! The site will be in a constant state of development and expansion on all levels so that in a few years all who wish to will have contributed to making ArtRebels.com a truly inspiring experience.
