The project ‘Save the Children’ has emerged as a response to recent events in Denmark, which have proved that alternative thinking is being endangered by our neo-liberal government.

A culture that otherwise has been a cornerstone for the appreciation of diversity is threatened and therefore we saw a need to react. This culture is representing values that are necessary to uphold, since it emphasises the importance of differences and that of being critical towards being marginalised.

It stresses the value of creativity, to that of challenging oneself in different spheres, that there is no right way of education and learning or becoming professional. That there is room for everybody, and that everyone has a gift that should be valued.

That there is no norm, but only diversity and that this diversity should be appreciated since it is exactly what brings life to our communities – not only in Denmark, but also around the world.

 

We recognise that this culture is threatened globally by governments that aim to rectify people to fit their box of ‘productive citizens’. We disregard this trend and want to make some noise to make people aware of what is happening.

 

First it was the ‘Organic Garden’, then the ‘Children House’, followed by the ‘Youth House’, and for long the government has been targeting Christiania. They may take away our houses and places to be, but they wont be able to eliminate us! Therefore we have gathered plentiful of great artists that, without charge, has provided a track for a CD supporting our threatened culture. All money collected from this CD and the launch party that will be held the 7th of september, will go to our fund HeartRebels.

The HeartRebels fund will be supporting projects that aim to uphold our culture and fight against marginalisation and the elimination of diversities. Everyone will have the chance to apply for money – and every thought or contribution will be highly appreciated.

 

As we are still to collect the money from the CD´s sold it will be another month or two before you can apply for financial support at HeartRebels. That is if people buy and support this idea. Sign up for newsletter and we will keep you updated on HeartRebels events and happenings.

Our Heroines, creating more "Frie Børn" art.ArtRebels Præsenterer:

”Red Børnene” - Frie Børn Leger Bedst!

Kunstnerbevægelsen ArtRebels lancerer støttecd’en ”Red Børnene” – Frie Børn Leger Bedst! - en samling musikalske perler fra danske bands, både de etablerede og dem på vej frem, der alle bidrager til den levende, eksperimenterende og yderst talentfulde musikscene, vi oplever i dag på landets klubber og spillesteder. Projektet støtter frie initiativer, der på én eller anden måde er med til at skabe kreativitet og opmærksomhed og sprede larm i gaden. Hertil har man stiftet foreningen HeartRebels, hvortil overskuddet fra ”Red Børnene” går. ArtRebels/HeartRebels udvælger og støtter ideer af kunstnerisk karakter, fx til produktion af musik og kunst samt arrangering af fester og koncerter eller andre kunstneriske events.

 

Udover sitet udtrykker kunstnerkredsen også et ønske om social og politisk engagement og har til hensigt at involvere sig i emner både af global og hjemlig karakter.
