WE ARE NOT CARETAKERS

We are not interested in the maintenance of what IS, but rather the challenging, provoking and pushing for what COULD BE.

NEVER STOP QUESTIONING

We believe that great work emerges from the depths of contemplation; from relentlessly asking the WHY’s and WHAT IF’s.

ART WILL CHANGE THE WORLD

We are committed to using artistic expression and creative rebellion to question, challenge and stimulate awareness about societal challenges.

COLLECTIVITY OVER INDIVIDUALITY

Community is everything. Trying to ignore our communal roots is like trying to argue against our DNA. We design for collective resilience rather than individual self-interest.

WE INVEST EMOTIONALLY

We’ll go out of business before we bankrupt our souls. We challenge corporations to transform and spend their money in meaningful ways.

PASSION IS THE PATH FORWARD

We initiate passion projects to grow wiser and nurture our community. We strive to support people and projects with the potential to make a difference in our wild and ever-changing world.

purpose

We research, explore and design alternative ways of pulling society and the planet towards a more resilient and culturally-rich future. Our approach is one of mutual trust, collective independence and constant collaboration.

SCROLL FOR PROJECTS

Social Service Club 01

Social Service Club is a passion project and non-profit from the body of ArtRebels, built upon ambitious principles of collaboration and interdisciplinarity. Social Service Club explores, experiments and speculates new ways of stimulating human potential through a variety of formats such as gatherings, salons, exhibitions, masterclasses, summer camps and artist residencies. We want to better understand how we can amplify the power of creative rebellion to question, challenge and raise awareness about societal challenges.

Corpus 04

An experimental event series established to expand the perception and the audience of the Royal Danish Ballet and its dance company Corpus. Three progressive, cultural communities transformed the residency of Corpus into unique experiences; each in their own characteristic way. Denmark's first public Voguing Ball, a 360-degree performative cinema and an intimate mixture of classical concerts and techno party. A threesome with the power to let knowledge from the outside inspire development inside.

Refshaleøen 05

Refshaleøen is an artificial island with a rich industrial heritage just a short ride from the centre of Copenhagen. Our collaboration with the islands owner Refshaleøens Ejendomsselskab goes back many years, and it’s been an ongoing inspiration to help them transform from a decaying shipyard into a vibrant hub of culture, gastronomy and urban innovation. Since our partnership began we’ve helped Refshaleøen develop everything from communications strategy, core narrative, photography and copywriting to brand identity, website and social media strategy and execution.

Trailerpark Festival 09

Trailerpark Festival was a self-initiated project by ArtRebels — a spectacular 3-day music, arts and technology festival situated in the heart of Copenhagen. The festival sought and presented the best talents from a wide range of creative subcultures within music, art, technology and design. We ran the festival for ten years and in many ways, Trailerpark shaped the way we approach our work and build community. We still miss her every summer.

The Museum of Food 12

What do bananas, avocados, coffee and honey have in common? They will disappear in the foreseeable future, unless we understand the needs to change habits and behaviour. At the UN’s COP23 meeting, the Nordic Food Policy Lab presented The Museum of Food with the intention to start a new dialogue connecting food and climate. ArtRebels created an artistic installation with vacuum-packed time capsules capturing the essence of endangered food.

Horsens Public Art 13

How does a small town on the periphery of Denmark’s cultural landscape keep young creative talent from moving away? This was a challenge brought to ArtRebels by Horsens Municipality, which was labouring to become a new cultural center, home to a blossoming music and art scene. By bringing some of the world's best street artists to the small sea-side town, ArtRebels managed to reinvigorate youthful participation and interest around the city and attract global and local attention alike.

Implement 14

Implement is a pioneering practitioner of a new, more engaging and human-focused approach to management consulting. Having undergone an internal transformation, the company wanted a brand identity that amplified the Scandinavian values on which their consultancy is built —  a flat structure, an inquisitive approach, a healthy work/life balance and a humanist view on professional life. We created a new identity formulated around their approach of prototyping and co-creation, and then activated it through a series of thought-leader events with a spatial design that played with the concept of agility and change.

In this way, we ensure that young people become empowered to contribute to the cultural life of the cities and are encouraged to release the creative rebel in them.

We’ve been active since 2006, roaming the streets and scenes of Copenhagen, initiating cultural initiatives across multiple formats, engaging with thousands of creatives from all over the world and moving companies and organisations towards new frontiers. We are very proud of — and slightly intoxicated by — our 15 years of existence, so here’s a few of the endless memories from our journey.
